Psyched is a performance psychology tool. It helps you notice the gap between how bad you expected something to be and how bad it actually was.
Psyched does not provide medical care, mental health care, therapy, counselling, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a therapist, a school counsellor, or any qualified professional. Nothing in the app — including anything an AI companion character says — is medical advice, psychological advice, or a clinical assessment, and none of it should be used to decide whether you need care.
The companion characters are fictional. They are generated by an AI model. They are not professionals, they are not people, and they do not know you.
If you are in crisis, or you are thinking about hurting yourself, stop using the app and contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right now. Psyched cannot help with that, does not monitor what you write, and nobody is reading your entries.
If something you're dealing with feels bigger than nerves before a test, talk to a real person who is qualified to help.
By using Psyched, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
These terms are between you and Ruike Liu. Apple is not a party to them, and Apple is not responsible for Psyched or for supporting it.
You must be at least 13.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must read these terms and agree to them for you. They are the legal party to this agreement, they are responsible for your use of the app, and they are responsible for anything an account you create is used for. If you are under 18 and no adult has agreed to these terms, you may not use Psyched.
You may not use Psyched if a law where you live prohibits it.
An account is optional. Psyched works completely without one, and your data stays on your phone if you never make one.
If you do make an account:
We do not collect an email address or a phone number, so there is no password reset link and no way to text you a code. The recovery code shown to you once at signup is the only way back into your account.
If you lose both your password and your recovery code, your account is gone. It cannot be recovered by us, by Apple, or by anyone. We do not have your password — we only store a hash of it — and we have no way to prove that an account is yours. We will not restore, transfer, or hand over an account based on an email asking us to, no matter how convincing it is, because doing that would be the easiest way for someone to steal your account.
Save the recovery code somewhere you will still have it in a year. Your history is still on your phone, but the server copy and the username are not coming back.
Use Psyched for what it's for. Don't:
We can block access, rate limit, or close accounts that do these things.
What you write in Psyched stays yours. We claim no ownership of your event titles, your fears, your notes, or your ratings.
If you have an account, you're giving us permission to store and transmit that content for one purpose only: running sync so you get your history back. Nothing else. We don't use it to train models, we don't send it to the AI provider, and we don't show it to anyone. The Privacy Policy explains exactly where it goes.
Delete your account and that permission ends with it, along with the data.
The app, its design, its text, and the companion characters belong to Ruike Liu. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, and nothing more. Everything not granted here is reserved.
The companion lines are generated by a third-party AI model. Our code filters them before they reach you, but we cannot guarantee any particular line is accurate, appropriate, or useful. Model output can be wrong.
Treat companion lines as encouragement, not as fact, instruction, or advice. Any figures that matter are calculated by the app itself from your own ratings, and the chart in the app is the authority, not anything the companion says.
Psyched is a small project. We may change features, add them, remove them, or stop running the service entirely. We'll try to give notice before shutting down sync so you can keep your data, but we can't promise a specific amount of warning.
We don't guarantee the server is available or that sync works at a given moment. The app is built to work offline for exactly this reason: the copy on your phone is the real one.
Psyched is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will produce any particular result. Nothing in Psyched is a promise that a test, an interview, or anything else will go well.
Some places don't allow these exclusions. Where that's true, they don't apply to you, and you keep the rights the law gives you.
To the maximum extent the law allows, Ruike Liu is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, lost opportunities, or academic, athletic, or professional outcomes, arising from your use of Psyched.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Psyched is limited to US$50. Psyched is free, and this limit reflects that.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You can stop using Psyched at any time. Deleting your account in Settings ends this agreement for you and permanently deletes your server data, as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app removes the local copy.
We can suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to attack the service, or where we're required to by law. Where it's practical and appropriate, we'll tell you at the time. Questions about a closed account go to PsychedSupportTeam@gmail.com.
Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top changes when we do,
and the current version is always at vruikeliu.github.io/psyched/terms.
If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app rather than quietly editing the page. Continuing to use Psyched after a change means you accept the new version. If you don't accept it, stop using the app and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or to the federal courts located in Massachusetts.
If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away the protections of mandatory law where you live.
